Finance Internship Programme 2026

Requirements for Finance Interns

To be considered for the Finance Internship Programme, applicants must meet specific educational and personal criteria.

• Qualification: A relevant NQF Level 6 or NQF Level 7 qualification in a finance-related field is essential. This includes qualifications in Accounting, Financial Management, Public Finance, Economics, Risk Management, and Auditing.
• Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
• Skills: The ability to work independently and as part of a team is important. Strong time management, effective work under pressure, and good communication skills are also required. Computer literacy, particularly in Excel, and a keen attention to detail are necessary.
• Language: Proficiency in at least two of the official languages of Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa) is a must.

Requirements for Electro-Mechanical Interns

• General Requirements: All applicants must be computer literate and between the ages of 18 and 35. Good communication skills are also essential, along with the ability to speak, read, and write in at least two of the official languages of Kouga Municipality.
• Electrical Engineering: For the seven available posts in Electrical Engineering, applicants need an N6 Certificate and a placement letter from their tertiary institution.
• Mechanical Engineering: Two posts are available for Mechanical Engineering, requiring an N6 Certificate and a placement letter from a tertiary institution.
• Mechanic Qualification: Two posts are open for individuals with a Mechanic Trade Test Certificate and a placement letter.

Interns in the Electro-Mechanical Department will receive a monthly stipend of R4,000 for the duration of their 18-month program.
