Position Title:Data Administrator

Position Type: Regular

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of a Commercial Insights Data Administrator

to be based at the McCain Rosebank Site, Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Category Insights Lead.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Support the Commercial Insights Manager by managing and maintaining the acquisition and management of data, along with the refreshing of regular reporting, and supporting on requests for information from the commercial team.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Maintain data governance and data integrity through investigating potential issues and making recommendations to stakeholders on proposed changes
• Sourcing of data from agencies and portals to make it available to the broader team in a usable format
• Gathering feedback from stakeholders on the usage, requirements, and issues on platforms, reports, and data, to feedback to the Insights Lead for action
• Ensure availability of information, training, and external platforms to relevant stakeholders across the commercial team
• Maintenance and delivery of accurate reporting templates across Food Service and Retail divisions
• Ongoing checking of agency data – accuracy & compliance to definitions
• Ongoing tracking of agency deliverables
• Make recommendations to Category / Brand / Sales teams for any changes or new additions to the data
• Download and source all relevant data from agencies and repositories, and make it available to the team in a usable format
• Gather and consolidate feedback on the usage, requirements, and issues on platforms, reports, and data
• Management of access to agency software and platforms
• Maintenance and refreshing of reporting templates for all commercial teams, utilizing necessary data
• Assistance with ad-hoc requests for information as needed

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum 3-year BCom degree
• Experience in the FMCG and/or Food Service industries in South Africa
• Understanding of FMCG and Food Service categories and how the data for these is generated
• Experience in using, analyzing, and building reports on a variety of data sources within the FMCG and Food Service environments
• As a member of the Commercial team, this individual will ensure that the data used in reporting and analysis is accurate, and that the reports generated reflect the data correctly.
• Experience in using Excel for reporting, analysis, data cleaning, and data management

  ON-THE-JOB TRAINING REQUIRED:
  McCain internal systems and processes
  Retailer portals
  Refreshing of advanced Excel reports
  Agency data portals and software

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:

• Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders to ensure that needs are met
• Good working knowledge of how the FMCG and Food Service industries work in South Africa
• Good working knowledge of the data and systems available in the FMCG and Food Service industries in South Africa
• Strong computer literacy – Advanced use of Microsoft Office and online research
• Ability to manage oneself and keep to deadlines
• Strong communication skills
