Internship Overview

The Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent (MISA) runs a 24-month Graduate Internship Programme from 2026 to 2028. This program targets South African graduates who lack work experience. MISA helps municipalities plan infrastructure, deliver services, and build capacity. Interns get real-world exposure to government work while gaining technical and professional skills. The monthly stipend is R7,860.50.

MISA has four internship fields open. Each comes with a reference number and required qualification.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) Intern

Reference: MISA/ICT/01
Qualification: IT or Computer Systems Engineering
This role focuses on tech support in a government setting.

Finance Intern

Reference: MISA/FINANCE/02
Qualification: BCom Accounting, Financial Management, or Cost & Management Accounting
Interns assist with financial tasks and budgeting.

Internal Control and Compliance Intern

Reference: MISA/ICC/03
Qualification: Accounting, Auditing, Internal Audit, or Risk Management
Work involves checks, reports, and risk handling.

Legal Services Intern

Reference: MISA/LEGAL/04
Qualification: LLB or Law Degree
Support legal operations and compliance in public service.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, you must meet these basics:

  • Unemployed graduate
  • National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6 or 7)
  • No prior internship experience

Prepare a completed Z83 form and updated CV. Shortlisted candidates submit certified documents later.
