About the NARYSEC Programme

The National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) comes from the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development. It aims to fight youth unemployment in rural and farming areas. General Security Practices Learnership

This is a National Certificate at NQF Level 3 that lasts 12 months. You need to be 18 to 26 years old with Grade 12, medically fit, no criminal record, fluent in English, and ready to relocate. It prepares you for jobs in the security field.

Laboratory Assistance Programme

Open to ages 18 to 35 with Grade 12. You must score 40% in Mathematics or 50% in Mathematical Literacy, 40% in Life Sciences, and 40% in English. Graduates can find formal work in labs.

Tracker Installation Short Skills Programme

For 18 to 35-year-olds with Grade 12. It teaches skills for installing trackers, with job placement at the end.

Drone Pilot Short Skills Programme

Aimed at 18 to 35-year-olds with Grade 12, English Home Language, Mathematics, Computer subject, a driver’s licence, ability to drive a UDS Bakkie, and computer skills. You learn drone tech for farming, mining, logistics, and security, leading to employment.

General Requirements

All applicants must be South African citizens with valid IDs, unemployed, not studying now, medically fit, and without criminal records. Priority goes to rural youth, farm dwellers, people with disabilities, and all racial groups. You need to live in targeted areas.

Required Documents

Submit a SAPS-certified Grade 12 certificate, ID copy, SARS Tax Number, proof of residence, and an updated CV with two references. Certifications cannot be over 6 months old.
