Applicants should handle pressure, pay attention to detail, and speak at least two official Western Cape languages. Age limit is 21 to 35 years old.
During the program, interns learn about municipal budgeting, treasury functions, financial administration, policy work, and finance systems. You will sign an employment contract and an internship agreement.
Communications Internship 2026
This role is in the Office of the Municipal Manager. It suits graduates in communications, journalism, media, marketing, or digital tools. No prior work experience is needed.
The contract runs for one year. Salary is R100,000 per year, all-inclusive.
Requirements include a National Diploma or Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. You need MS Office skills, good communication, interpersonal abilities, and knowledge of social media. Strong organization and the ability to work overtime are key.
Key tasks include helping with communication programs, managing social media, updating the website, drafting newsletters and media releases, public participation, event planning, admin support, and handling public queries.
