About Regent Business School Graduation 2023.
Graduation is one of the most important occasions in the Regent Business School academic calendar 2023 where students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, receive their hard-earned degrees and diplomas. Indeed, graduation marks the culmination of many years of personal sacrifice and hard work that have laid the foundation for successful and inspiring careers.
At Regent Business School graduation, Honorary Degrees are also conferred to distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to society, both in South Africa and at a global level. In addition, University Fellowships are conferred on outstanding academics for research excellence as well as The Distinguished Teachers’ Awards are presented to academics for teaching excellence.
Graduation is getting a diploma or academic degree or the ceremony that is sometimes associated with it, in which students become graduates. Before graduation, candidates are referred to as graduands. The date of graduation is often called graduation day.
The graduation ceremony itself is also called commencement, convocation or invocation. Normally, the ceremony and name apply to high school and above (the next ascending levels being Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate)
Students who are eligible to graduate will receive official invitations to their graduation ceremonies containing details of their ceremony, how to get a gown, and how to organize for photographs
Graduands will be issued with graduation gowns at their respective student’s faculty office on the week of graduation. All graduation regalia must be returned in time and those returned after the deadline shall attract a penalty fee.

Postponement of April 2023 Graduation Ceremony.
Dear Students,
In accordance with President Ramaphosa’s declaration of a state of disaster relating to the Coronavirus (COVID – 19) Pandemic, and the need to reduce the spread of the virus, REGENT Business School, in consultation with various stakeholders and the institution’s COVID – 19 Coordinating Committee, decided to postpone the Graduation Ceremony which was scheduled for 18 April 2023, until further notice. This is in line with the approach of all universities across the country.
We remain acutely aware of the importance of the graduation ceremony for students and families, and we are hopeful that graduates will have an opportunity later in the year to celebrate their achievements at such a ceremony with their loved ones.
In the interim, we are in process of exploring options to ensure that our diplomates and graduands receive their qualifications and other related documents.
We wish to emphasise that at this point, there are no reported cases of COVID-19 at REGENT Business School.
