For a period of three and a half (3.5) years, with the possibility of a one-year extension, the scholarship covers a living stipend of $35,000 per year, tax-free (2026 rate), adjusted annually, and Single Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC) for all postgraduate applicants.

University of Queensland RTP Scholarships 2026 | Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility conditions for this scholarship include that applicants;

• must be domestic or international students
• must be nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ
• must be assessed by the Graduate School as meeting all conditions for admission to the higher degree by research program.
• must not be receiving a living allowance award, or scholarship providing a benefit greater than 75% of the RTP Scholarship living allowance rate to undertake the higher degree by research program.

How to Apply for RTP at the University of Queensland

Before submitting an application you should follow the how-to-apply steps for either the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil). Applicants are expected to fill and submit application form online.

You apply for this scholarship when you submit an application for a PhD or an MPhil. You don’t need to submit a separate scholarship application.
