Overview of TOTAL Bursary Program
If you are successfully enrolled with a University you can apply for a bursary.
A bursary is a monetary award made by any educational institution or funding authority to individuals or groups. It is usually awarded to enable a student to attend school, university, or college when they might not be able to, otherwise. Some awards are aimed at encouraging specific groups or individuals into the study.
TOTAL South Africa was established in 1954 and is now a major player in the oil, gas and chemical industries. The company’s products include fuels, lubricants, gas, bitumen, and agro-chemicals are available to both individual consumers and business in the retail, commercial, agricultural and industrial markets. It also offers business services such as liquid fuel solutions to the mining and manufacturing customers, in-house card facility aimed at commercial users, tribology that deals with the effective lubrication of machine components and plant parts and lubricant technical assistance.
TOTAL has 530 service stations throughout South Africa as well as 50 stations in Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland. The company has its head office located in Johannesburg and two regional sales offices in Cape Town and in Durban.
TOTAL Bursary Application Details 2022/2023
TOTAL bursary programme aims to improve youth development, create a talent pool for the Youth Talent Graduate programme and address scarce and critical skills as needed by the company.
TOTAL bursary scheme is offered to 8-10 students at a FET college or a university on an annual basis. Bursaries are also available to students in their third year of studies if they have an average of 65% or greater for years 1 and 2. Candidates should not be receiving any financial assistance from another institution or company.
The bursary is offered to students who pursue Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial and Civil), Economics, Finance (Accounting or Tax), Marketing, Environmental Studies, Human Resources, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Law and Corporate Governance Health and Safety degrees. The bursary pays for tuition fees, books and stationery allowances and accommodation costs.
Bursary Requirements and Eligibility
- Disadvantaged South Africa students are prioritized
- Grade 12 with a university exemption
- 18 – 23 years old
- 65% or greater average for third-year students
