TotalEnergies has two main apprenticeships open in Durban at the Lubricants Manufacturing Plant.
The Millwright Apprenticeship trains you in mechanical and electrical maintenance for industrial plants. You will learn to fix and maintain machinery in a busy factory setting.
The Instrument Mechanician Apprenticeship covers instrumentation, control systems, and plant operations. This role helps keep manufacturing processes running smoothly with technical tools and systems.
About the Programme
Candidates will work at the Lubricants Manufacturing Plant on Wharfside and Causeway Road in Durban. The program mixes hands-on work with classroom training. You will join experienced teams, fill out logbooks, and pass assessments to build real skills.
This setup prepares you for jobs in engineering and plant maintenance. TotalEnergies Marketing South Africa runs the program for those with less than three years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
As an apprentice, you will follow strict health, safety, and environmental rules. Always wear personal protective equipment like helmets and gloves.
You will help with plant maintenance, attend training, and keep work areas clean. Report any dangers or accidents right away. Complete paperwork such as timesheets and logbooks. Be ready for overtime or shift work when needed.
Minimum Requirements
You need a Matric certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science. Or hold an N3, N4, N5, or N6 in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
These basics show you have the school knowledge for technical training.
Additional Requirements
Be physically fit to handle the job demands. You must work at heights on tanks and platforms. Expect time in confined spaces like inside tanks.
The industrial environment means noise, heat, and heavy work, so prepare for that.
