Internship Overview

The internship takes place in the Western Cape, South Africa, within the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. You will work in the Wholesale & Retail Leadership Chair, helping with research, admin tasks, and coordination.

Purpose of the Internship

Key Responsibilities
Interns handle a range of tasks across several areas.
Administrative Support
You will help with office admin, keep filing systems up to date (both digital and paper), and prepare documents and letters.
Meeting Coordination
Schedule meetings, create agendas and materials, take notes during sessions, and follow up on action items.
Stakeholder Engagement
Support workshops and events, talk with stakeholders, and update contact lists.
Data & Research Support
Help collect survey data, organize research information, and assist with research papers.
Reporting & Documentation
Put together reports and slide shows, manage project files, and create knowledge resources.
Minimum Requirements
You need a qualification in one of these areas: Wholesale and Retail Management, Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. This ensures you have the right background for the role.
Required Skills
Basic skills in MS Office tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are essential. You should have strong written and spoken communication, good organization, teamwork ability, time management, and attention to detail.

It helps if you know the wholesale and retail sector, have done research or data work before, understand higher education, or are familiar with skills development programs.
