The management of the Villioti Fashion Institute has released the new & returning students’ school fees structure as well as the Villioti Fashion Institute tuition fees booklet, students bursary, banking details, registration fees, examination fees, class fees, finance booklet, and other fees charged for the 2024 academic year.

The following policies and procedures are applicable to all students who officially register for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Certificate, Short Course, and Diploma programmes at the Villioti Fashion Institute.

The Institute reserves the right to change fees without prior notice. However, fee changes are subject to approval by the Governing Council and we will update it ASAP.

Once a student is offered a place to study, the place must be secured by paying a non-refundable registration fee, which is deducted from the student’s school fees the following year. Only once the student has been successfully assessed, been offered a place and paid the deposit, can it be taken that the student will be able to study at the Villioti Fashion Institute.

Consumables vary during the course of the academic year, including fabrics, cottons, art materials and the like depending on personal choice. The above-mentioned equipment and consumables are not included in the fees.

The following types of financial aid are available to students:

DONOR BURSARIES

A donor provides funds to the Institute for the establishment of a bursary: Subject to specific requirements set by the donor; or without any specific requirements.

EQUIPMENT BURSARIES

Equipment bursaries are awarded to students based on academic excellence and financial need. In the case of a student who has been awarded a donor bursary, the Institute may decide to issue an equipment bursary.

ACADEMIC MERIT LIST & MERIT AWARDS

The Academic Merit List is an academic notation, used to recognize the level of highest scholarship demonstrated by students at the Institute. All registered students who achieve a final average of 75% and above (distinction) within an academic year will be added to the honorary list and will receive a letter from the head of the Institution. Only students who are placed on the Academic Merit List stand a chance to receive the Merit Award.
Merit awards are awarded on the basis of excellent academic merit along with an excellent student record and positive and respectful involvement in Institutional activities to the top student on the Academic Merit List.

GRANTS

The aim of the grant is to support and encourage the study of Fashion in order to build the capacity of fashion lectures within the Institution and subsequently empowering the youth of South Africa. Grant applications are reviewed once a year by the VFI Examination Committee

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Villioti Fashion Institute’s Scholarship Programme awards Bachelor of Fashion qualification scholarships from the 2nd year of study to registered students who have achieved academic excellence.

The Villioti Fashion Institute is pleased to award scholarships to support outstanding candidates according to their academic profile and the institutions belief in their extraordinary potential.

The following rules apply to the issuing of scholarships:
• Scholarships are awarded at the Organisations discretion to entice extraordinary potential.
• Students may only apply for a Bachelor of Fashion qualification scholarship
• Scholarships are only awarded in a student’s 2nd year of study.
• Scholarships are only open to South African citizen students.
• If applicants are not awarded the scholarship applied for, they cannot apply for another scholarship through the Institute.
• Scholarships do not cover living costs, equipment, consumables, accommodation, flight tickets, health insurance and further expenses.
• All applications will be reviewed by the Examination Committee.
• The Committee will select the best applicants for interview.
• Applicants will receive in writing the results of their application.
• These interviews will take place in January of each academic year.
• The final results for the full scholarship will be released by the end of January of each academic year preceding the start of the academic calendar.
