The WBHO bursary is a construction bursary. They offer Vacation work, Bursaries, and In-Service training with relevant studies to their business. if your ambition is in the construction business, this could be a great opportunity.
WHBO is one of the biggest construction companies in South Africa. They divide their operations into 3 sectors, namely: Building construction, Civil Engineering and Roads and Earthworks. What Bursaries Does WBHO offer?
WBHO offers bursaries to students who are currently studying in these directions:
- Building Science Bursaries
- Quality Surveying Bursaries
- Civil Engineering Bursaries
- Construction Management Bursaries
These can all be taken in the following degrees:
- BEng
- BSc
- ND
- BTech
What are the Requirements?
Candidates who wish to apply for any of the above-mentioned bursary fields, must comply with the following requirements, and also provide all documentation, certified.
Candidates must:
- Be a South African Citizen
- Must have a valid ID document
- Must have an average of 60% academically
- Must be a full-time student
- You can apply during any year of study
If you make it to the shortlist, they will contact you for an interview. They may also contact you if they have some additional questions.
Successful candidates must be willing to join the company for vacation work, in between semesters. The company also has a one-week compulsory training for candidates in its bursary program. This week will be during June or July, but candidates will be informed prior to the date. If any of their subjects is failed, candidates must undertake to re-write them at own cost.
When you finished your study, you will be required to enter a work-back program where you have to work for WBHO the number of years you received their bursary. Also, make sure to read their FAQ about applying for their bursary and doing vacation work.
