General Studies N4 – N6 Programmes Admission Requirements
Educare
  • An Educational and Development NC(V) L4 Certificate;
  • Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational;
  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies;
  • APS score of 24, using double the English, and the four (4) next best subjects of NSC.
  • A student should produce a police clearance certificate upon submission of registration.
  • Criminal/Background checks must be conducted to ensure compliance with the requirements of the South African Council of Educators (SACE)
Hospitality X
  • A Hospitality NC(V) L4 Certificate;
  • National Introductory Certificate: N4 Food Services;
  • APS score of 24, using double the English, and the four (4) next best subjects of NSC.
  • Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational;
Tourism X
  • A Tourism NC(V) L4 Certificate;
  • Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational qualification;
  • All N4 should have done placement test
  • APS score of 24, using double the English and Tourism/Geography and then the four (4) next best subjects of NSC.
Hairdressing
  • A minimum requirement is Grade 9. Preference will be given to learners with a Grade 12.
NCV Level 2 to 4 Programmes Admission Requirements
Electrical Infrastructure Construction, Engineering and Related Design Finance, Economics and Accounting.
  • PLP(Pre-Vocational Learning Programme) certificate with a 50% pass in English, Life Orientation and a 60% pass in Mathematics and Foundational Science; or a
  • Grade 9 statement with a 50% pass in Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy and English FAL; or a
  • AET L4 (GETC) – 50% pass in Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy and English FAL; or an Equivalent occupational qualification; or a
  • Grade 9 – APS of 24, using the best of six Grade 9 subjects, inclusive of Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy / Technical Mathematics and English; or a
  • Grade 10 – APS of 22, using the best of six subjects, inclusive of Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy /Technical Mathematics and English; or a
  • Grade 11 – APS of 20, using the best of six subjects, inclusive of Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy /Technical Mathematics and English; or a
  • Grade 12 – APS of 18, using the best of six Grade 12 subjects, inclusive of Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy /Technical Mathematics and English.

Hospitality, Marketing, Office Administration and Tourism
  • PLP(Pre-Vocational Learning Programme) certificate with a 50% pass in English, Life Orientation and a 60% pass in Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy and Foundational Science; or a
  • Grade 9 statement with a 50% pass in English FAL; or a
  • AET L4 (GETC) with a 50% pass in English FAL; or an Equivalent occupational qualification; or an

Engineering Studies N1 – N6 Programmes Admission Requirements
PLP 
  • This programme is an entry-level foundational learning programme for articulation into learning programmes for students who do not meet the entry requirements.
  • The program prepares a student for enrolment in the relevant NC(V) and Report 191 courses.
  • The programme is pitched more or less at NQF level 2.
Engineering: N1 – N6 
  • Grade 12 statement with a pass in Mathematics and English FAL and Physical Science.
  • APS score of 18, using the best six NSC / NC (V) L4 subjects inclusive of Mathematics/Technical Mathematics and English.
Electrical Installation Rules and Specialised Electrical Installation Rules
  • Any of the following NC(V) L4Certificates:
    • Civil Engineering and Building Construction
    • Drawing Office Practice
    • Electrical Infrastructure Construction
    • Engineering and Related Design
    • Information Technology and Computer Science
    • Mechatronics
    • Process Instrumentation
    • Process Plant Operations: or an
  • National Certificate: N3 Engineering Studies;
  • Equivalent occupational qualification;
  • APS score of 24, using double the Mathematical/Technical Mathematics plus one relevant Technology Subject (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) or Physical Science, plus English and the two (2) next best subjects of NSC.
Certificate of Competency
  • Receipt of monies paid
  • Certified copies of qualifications
  • Proof of appropriate practical experience on company letterhead and verified by the signature of the employer.
  • A testimonial of sobriety and conduct signed by an employer.
  • Proof of age, name and identification number, i.e. certified copy of an ID document or a copy of a birth certificate.
  • A letter from the Resident Engineer, where possible indicating that the applicant is considered to be a suitable candidate.

Business Studies N4 – N6 Programme Admission Requirements
Introduction to N4 
  • APS score of 22, using the best of six relevant NSC/NC(V) L4 subjects (inclusive of English); or an
  • Equivalent NQF level 4 occupational qualification
Business Management 
  • Any of the following NC(V) L4 Certificates:
    • Management
    • Office Administration
    • Information Technology
    • Finance, Economics and Accounting
    • Transport and Logistics.
  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies;
  • Equivalent occupational qualification;
  • APS score of 24, using double the English and Accounting/ Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy/Economics/Business Studies subjects plus the two (2) next best subjects of NSC.
Financial Management
  • Any of the following NC(V) L4 Certificates:
    • Office Administration with Applied Accounting L4
    • Any other NC(V) Level 4 certificate with Applied Accounting L4 as a subject
    • Finance, Economics and Accounting
  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies;
  • Equivalent occupational qualification;
  • APS score of 24, using double the English and Accounting/ Mathematics/ Business Studies/Economics subjects plus the three (3) next best subjects of NSC.
Human Resources Management 
  • Any of the following NC(V) L4 Certificates:
    • Education and Development
    • Finance, Economics and Accounting
    • Information Technology
    • Management
    • Marketing
    • Office Administration
    • Transport and Logistics;
  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies;
  • Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational qualification;

Legal Secretary, Management Assistant, Public Relations
  • An Office Administration L4 certificate;
  • Grade 12 with computer subjects;
  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies; or an
  • Typing skills Certificate;
  • Equivalent NQF Level 4 occupational qualification; or an
  • APS score of 24, using double the English and then the four (4) next best subjects of NSC.
Marketing Management 
  • Any of the following NC(V) L4 Certificates:
    • Education and Development
    • Finance, Economics and Accounting
    • Information Technology
    • Management

  • A National Introductory Certificate: N4 Business Studies;

WESTCOL Online Application Form 2025

The Western TVET College 2025 applications are open for NCV, NATED, Diploma, Certificate and other programmes offered at the college.

  • You can apply online by visiting Western TVET College Online Application Portal. Applicants can also visit the school to book an online application session (if any).
  • You can use either your smartphone, tablet or computer to apply online via the student i-Enabler, using your PIN and student number to log on.

N/B: During application, An inaccurate or incomplete application form will hold up the processing of your application. Please note that if you provide any false information your application will be rejected immediately.
