Who Does Not Qualify?

This bursary is specifically for full-time undergraduate students pursuing NQF Level 7 qualifications. Therefore, TVET College students, Community College students, and distance learning students, including those from UNISA, do not qualify. Graduate School students, Business School students, Higher Certificate students, Diploma students, Advanced Diploma students, Master’s students, Doctoral students, and N4, N5, or N6 students are also not eligible for this programme.

Academic Requirements

Grade 12 Learners
Grade 12 applicants must have achieved a Bachelor’s Pass in their final exams and maintain a minimum average of 65%.

Current University Students
Current university students must demonstrate a minimum academic average of 65% and present strong academic results from their latest completed academic years. Capitec may favour students who are progressing through their studies within the standard completion timeframe.

Important Bursary Conditions

Annual Renewal
The bursary is renewable annually, subject to the student’s academic performance, engagement in programme activities, and the availability of sponsor funding. Continued funding is not guaranteed and depends on meeting renewal criteria each year.

Work-Back Obligation
Bursary recipients may be required to work for Capitec Bank after completing their studies. The duration of this work-back period typically matches the number of years the bursary was funded. Full-Time Study Requirement
