STOREMAN

Oversee, manage, allocate and repair all small tools purchased and issued for the company on our construction sites.

1. ADMINISTRATION

1.1. Maintain an inventory of all small plant, scaffold and formwork owned by the company. List should reflect a detailed description and quantity This list should be forwarded to the small tools controller for records purposes

1.2. Report to the small tools controller weekly on: –

1.2.1. Inventory Accuracy – monitor risk and mitigate of procurement/transfer of wrong items.

1.2.2. Inventory Turnover – Track how many times our inventory is sold/lost/purchased.

1.2.3. Identify potential overstocking.

1.8 Reconcile at month end by providing the small tools coordinator with books of deliveries, despatch and actual stock after counting the stock.

1.9 Ensure that all transfer note books are completed correctly to monitor small tool allocation

2. RECEIVING MATERIALS

2.1. Receive material and equipment by checking the quantities against the transfer notebook and handing this to the small tools controller

2.2. Offload material and equipment and store in a safe and secure manner

2.3. Receive goods delivered to site by:

2.3.1. Checking the goods on the delivery vehicle against the transfer note book

3. DESPATCHING MATERIALS

3.1. Despatch equipment and materials only on authorised requisition by the small tools coordinator

3.2. Control issues from the store by:

3.2.1. Issuing consumables

3.2.2. Issuing small tools and recording when the tools are returned by writing in the control book and submitting to the small tools coordinator for reporting purposes

3.3 Ensure items are loaded onto the truck in a safe and secure manner and ensure that items will not fall off during transit

4. STORES STOCK

4.1. Reconcile at month end by providing the small tools co-ordinator with books of deliveries, despatch and actual stock after counting the stock.

4.2. Conduct a stock check of materials in the store weekly by checking materials available in the store against the numbers on the stock cards

4.3. Keeping a progressive total on a monthly basis of all materials supplied to the site

5. HOUSEKEEPING

5.1. Clean the store by sweeping, dusting and re-stacking the material and equipment.

6. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

6.1. Oversee the general labour in the yard and manage his tasks accordingly

6.2. Establish and maintain a working environment that employs highly motivated and effective staff in the company

6.3. Train and mentor subordinates as and when required

6.4. Apply the company disciplinary procedures when you need to don’t make exceptions

6.5. Build trust and open and honest relationships.

6.6. Communicate expectations clearly

7. GENERAL

7.1. Ensure accurate and complete record keeping of small tools and equipment related information.

The employer is therefore entitled to instruct the employee at any time to carry out additional duties or responsibilities, which fall reasonably within the ambit of this job description, or in accordance with operational requirements.
