About the SHRA Compliance Internship Programme
The SHRA is a public entity under the Department of Human Settlements. Its main goal is to regulate and promote affordable rental social housing for people with low to middle incomes across South Africa. This internship is part of their Young Graduate Programme. The program is designed to give graduates from universities and universities of technology hands-on experience.
Internship Details
The specific internship is for a Compliance Officer Intern. It is within the Compliance, Audit and Risk (CAR) department. The intern will report to the Compliance Manager. The position is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, and will last for 24 months. The monthly stipend for the intern will be R11,172.49.
Key Learning Areas
Interns will get practical experience in several important areas. These include compliance monitoring, which involves checking if rules are being followed. They will also learn about managing and reporting compliance information. Supporting compliance services and understanding regulatory enforcement processes are also key learning areas.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this internship, applicants must have a Matric or Grade 12 Certificate. They also need a three-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree. The degree can be in Law, Business Management, or Auditing. The qualification must be at NQF Level 7. Basic computer literacy skills are necessary, along with a strong attention to detail. Good interpersonal and communication skills are also important. An added advantage would be a Certificate in Compliance Management. No prior experience is required for this role.
