NSFAS Application Form 2024/2025
Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme NSFA funding for the 2024 academic year.
NSFAS online application form 2024 intake is open to all interested applicants irrespective of colour, race, ethnic identity, religion, gender, or national origin, provided they qualify for the funding program for which they have applied.

To use the Online Application System you will need internet access, as well as an email address that you can access regularly because as soon as you submit your online application, a confirmation mail will be sent to your email address.
Document Needed for NSFAS Funding Application 2024
Take note of the below important documents needed to complete the application:
1 All applicants must provide a copy of ID. A temporary ID issued by the Department of Home Affairs will be accepted
2 Non-SASSA applicants must provide ID copies of parent/s, legal guardian/guardian or spouse
3 Smart ID cards: a copy with both sides of the smart ID must be provided
4 Proof of income: applicant and/or parents/legal guardian/spouse (where applicable (non-SASSA) should provide latest payslip not older 3 months, UIF letter, appointment letter, retrenchment letter (applicant and/or parent(s), legal guardian/spouse)
5 Person with disabilities: to complete Disability Annexure A form.

Once your funding application becomes successful, NSFAS will cover your costs for
- Accommodation
- Transport
- Living allowance
- Book allowances
- Incidental/personal care allowance
How to Apply Online
The application is made by filling out the application form online at the myNSFAS portal.
- Note – Once the NSFAS Application Portal/Form is closed, new applications will not be accepted. So register now while the applications are still ongoing.
Step 1: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and complete the sections on the screen by providing the required information
Step 2: Upload required supporting documents where applicable
Step 3: Click on ‘Submit’
- And just like that, your NSFAS funding application has been submitted.
If you are unable to complete the application by yourself, you can visit a National Youth Development Agency Centre, a Thusong Centre or one of our application partner’s centre near you, where an NSFAS representative will help you apply.
