Here is an exciting opportunity to join our Platinum business as a Shaft Surveyor for a period of 12 months on a Fixed Term Contract basis, responsible for managing the specialist Survey services.

This is a  Fixed Term Contract appointment for 12 months as a 17.2 appointment in terms of the MSHA act.

The focus for this role will be to:

• Managing the Activities of the Survey and Evaluation Teams, plan monthly Survey and Evaluation requirement and priorities.
• Establishing optimum on-mine surveying standards.
• Maintaining MPRDA survey legal compliance and electronic Survey plans including DMR plans and monthly reporting according to standard.
• Ensuring Availability of electronic production Survey plans and coordinate effective usage of equipment.
• Surveying and measuring monthly production within electronic environment.

This role is in the Survey department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Chief Surveyor.

You will be required to have: 

• National Higher Diploma, B.Tech or Graduate Diploma in Engineering will be advantageous.
• Mine Surveyors Certificate of Competence is required.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office is required.

Knowledge, skills and experience required: 

• 5 years experience in Mine Surveying within a Conventional Hard Rock Mining Environment.
