Madadeni Campus Historical: Background of Madadeni campus

Madadeni Nursing Campus in under Madadeni Provincial Hospital which was established in 1966. The Nursing school started its operation in 1967 (training 1 & 3 Years Psychiatric Nursing Science).

In 1982 started training nursing assistant course and 1984 started training 3 year course Diploma in General nursing science. In 1990 Started training Bridging course leading to registration as a general nurse and Primary Health Care, Health assessment, Treatment and Care (PHC).

In 2000 started training two year course Enrolled Nurse and in 2005 started training Diploma in Nursing (General, community and Psychiatry) and midwifery under the KwaZulu-Natal College of Nursing (Madadeni Campus) to date. In 2001 started training Diploma in Midwifery Nursing Science (R254).

Presently Madadeni Nursing Campus is housed or accommodated at Majuba College for Further Education and Training (TVET).

Madadeni Campus Vision

To lead Nursing Education and to achieve excellence in nursing through education and training of nurses and midwives registrable with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) at Basic and Post-registration levels.

To produce caring and competent nurses and clinical nurse specialists who will be responsive to the current and future health care needs of the people of KwaZulu-Natal by empowering them with nursing knowledge
